String Figure Honu represents the Turtle, foundation and deep knowledge. We decided to play with the figure and placed it upon driftwood sticks above the olivine sand of Lumaha'i beach on the North Shore of Kaua'i Island. The green color when wet, such as here, shows as a black to green and the sunlight and clouds combined to change the stick figure holding the head at the left center to become man-like. The mystical feelings of this image come out strongly and brings wonderment to the viewer.
